SAU Explores: District 5
While Ho Chi Minh City’s District 5 is usually synonymous with the annual mid-autumn festival celebrations, as well as significant cultural landmarks such as Thien Hau Pagoda, the district is as diverse as it gets with its experiences. District 5 is located in the central part of HCMC, bordering District 1 and District 3. This area was home to early Chinese immigrants from generations ago. Previously known as Cho Lon, or Chinatown, District 5 today provides a memorable cultural experience that blends east and west in a bustling yet serene atmosphere.
Due to its central location and high population density, this district is also one of the busiest parts of the city. From historic landmarks with memorable architecture to public spaces and markets, there are plenty of ways to enjoy District 5. This area is also well regarded among locals for its authentic Chinese cuisine. Some residents may also claim you can find the best dim sum in Ho Chi Minh City right here.
